The Gelatist is a brand owned company which began in 2013, based in Rome within an artisan gelato kitchen. The initial investment, the quality of service and products, and the store concept have proven to bring immediate achievement in profitability. It was within the following years that a handful of locations were opened including Poland, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia.
OUR GREENVILLE GELATO FAMILY
After traveling through Europe for work and falling in love with the rich, authentic flavors of Gelato even in small towns in Europe…Dhiren asked the question:
“Why don’t we have good Gelato in Greenville?”.
The husband-and-wife team from Five Forks, SC decided to answer this question by bringing the best Gelato straight from Italy. Gelato brings families and community together. Their shared passion for food and family traditions inspired them to open their own Gelato shop near their home. Their dream of sharing happiness has become a vibrant local spot where they can share the sweet, creamy treats that captured their hearts abroad.
We leverage on the latest, most innovative technologies and machinery to deliver premium quality products. In our lab we use different machines, such as the cream whipper machine, the pasteurizing machine, the blast chiller, the blender and the planetary mixer. Our shops are all equipped with display freezers.

THE EXCELLENCE OF MADE IN ITALY
Quality is our first ingredient. Everyday, we make fresh gelato from premium products only, and we use the same care when preparing our crepes, waffles and frozen yogurts – each with different toppings, such as nutella, gelato, fruits, etc – smoothies, fresh juices, milkshakes, low fat yogurts with fruits, semifreddos, tiramisù, Sicilian cannolis, cannoli dessert cups and cheesecakes. We highly value the use of seasonal fruits, and in the meantime, for the youngest, we create different flavour combinations inspired by new trends. From the pasteurization to the whipping process, we follow the traditional Made in Italy methods to make sure we create the perfect handmade gelato, personally supervising each production step. We leverage on the latest, most innovative technologies and machines to deliver premium quality products. In our labs we use different machines, such as the batch freezer, the pasteurizing machine, the blast chiller, the blender and the planetary mixer. Our shops are all equipped with refrigerated displays to store our products and the chocolate fountain.

OUR ITALIAN GELATO ROOTS
ITALIAN INGREDIENTS AMERICAN MADE
The Gelatist was born in 2013 in Rome from an intuition of Cesare Toffolon. Cesare’s experience in gelato industry today contributes to spreading the excellence of Made in Italy throughout the world. However, speaking of excellence means first of all guaranteeing it and this is what we at The Gelatist do. The knowledge of products, traditional recipes and ability of our Gelato masters marge to pay tribute to craftsmanship, choosing the best raw materials every day. Thanks to these daily certainties we managed to grow in a short time and today, in addition to our shops in Rome, we bring our tradition of Italian gelato around the world. We let ourselves be conquered by the beauty of Dubai, thanks to the passion and collaboration of a young Emirati entrepreneur, Sara Almutawa, with whom we have created an artisan production workshop where fresh flavors are produced every day, without preservatives, able to join the taste of Italian gelato with local perfumes. Our passion has led the group to create European collaborations in Poland and Ireland, reaching in 2021 the opening of the first overseas franchise in Texas and now expanding to Greenville, SC. Our goal is and will always be to enhance the real artisan gelato, through quality and experience, embracing the flavors of the Italian tradition and always respecting every single product.
